What is Lymphatic Drainage?

spiritual reality

Lymphatic Drainage was developed in Germany in the 1930’s.  It is a very light pressure massage which stimulates the lymph (waste fluid), expelling toxins, waste products, excess water and bacteria out of the body.  It is a great way to detox the body, maintaining general wellbeing and to remove fluid build-up.  When you hear a person say their ‘glands are up’, they are referring to their Lymph Glands being fuller.  This happens when a person becomes ill and has excess build up of waste in the body due to the cells fighting the bacterial invasion.

During Lymphatic Drainage the light pressure applied by the therapist activates the sympathetic nervous system to stimulate the movement of lymph.

This process is good for Chronic Fatigue, Arthritis, Immune Deficiencies, Migraines, Sinusitis, Colds and Flu’s, Sports injuries, Hormonal imbalances and Lymphodema.  It is an excellent therapy for the physically inactive who do not, or cannot exercise the body, as muscular movement is necessary to move the toxins/waste from the Lymph Glands at the neck, armpits and groin etc, out of the body.
